What's difference between partial and half head highlights for the hair?

Please tell me exactly what difference is between partial and half head highlights? I have been getting partial highlights and I dont feel this covers enough of my hair. When i put my hair up in middle there is a lot of dark hair. Do I need to get half head instead of partial? Please explain difference in detail between partial and half head highlights. best answer gets 10 points! What's difference between partial and half head highlights for the hair?
you need to talk to whom ever is doing your hair. I would define a partial as a moach section on the top of your head back to your O-bone (the point on the back of your head that sticks out a bit) and then a trianglular section on each side.....but depending on the client, the desired look, the density of your hair, I might do a little less, and sometimes Ill suggest doing more. You may not need a whole head....if you wear your hair half up then maybe they just need to drop down a little further, they could also do the foils down further but not as close together....I call this fading out the foils so it will gradually get darker toward the back. But if you wear your hair all up and dont like seeing the underneather darker then maybe a full is the answer. What's difference between partial and half head highlights for the hair?
Partial means getting one part of your head done or a few highlights scattered arround your head. Half a head means only on the top or only underneath. I get them. Or you could go for a full head which would cover all of your hear. Top, bottom everywhere..
I used to get partial, now I have a little gray so I go for half-head. This way, it doesn't show any gray when pulled up. My stylist does everything above the ears, none in the nape. However, each stylist is very different. Mine might use 50 foils, and someone else may use 25. I like my highlights more natural and well blended, so I take more foils, which equals more cash, but no stripes. Partials are generally just a few in front and on top, more to frame the face only. You should ask your stylist to be sure. Hope this helps.
